STATEMENT OF WORK

Repair Valves and Fire Hydrants, Basewide

1.0 STATEMENT OF WORK

1.1. The contractor shall provide, unless otherwise noted, all management, tools, equipment, transportation, supervision, and labor necessary to repair the facilities as shown on contract drawings and specifications, Nashville, International Airport (IAP) Repair fire hydrants, base-wide Attachment 1 and 2, hereinafter referred to as "plans". Contractor shall perform all work in accordance with this Statement of Work (SOW) and the plans. Contractor shall coordinate all work with the Contracting Officer and Civil Engineer office and is subject to the work schedule as stated in this document. Upon completion, the facility must be complete and usable for the entire base populace.

1.2. Contractor shall notify and coordinate with the COR regarding any waterline outages while working. Contractor shall notify the COR at least two weeks prior to any base wide outages. Contractor shall minimize outages to buildings and facilities where possible. For any planned outages, the Contractor shall provide the following:

1. Provide information on what building(s) or facilities will be affected by outage.

2. Provide location or location(s) of valves or hydrants to be replaced for each facility.

3. Provide an estimate of length of time of potential outages.

4. Provide temporary restroom facilities for any building facility outages that exceed 2hrs.

1.3. Contractor shall submit a detailed work plan and the work plan shall be approved by the COR prior to beginning any work on the site. Work plan shall include:

a. Valve and Hydrant replacement sequence.

b. Schedule for planned outages at each affected Building or Facility.

c. Plan for temporary restroom facilities for buildings during interruption of service.

d. Thrust restraints to be utilized at each replacement valve.

1.4. These requirements, together with the technical specifications, standards, and drawings specified in the contract documents, cover the requirements for all work associated with Repair fire hydrants, base-wide, Nashville IAP. The following section is a general description of the work involved:

A. Water Pipe and Hydrant Repairs;

1. Fire valves and hydrants basewide require testing and replacement due to end of useful life

1.5. Work shall be performed as shown on the plans and as described in this document.

1.5.1. Contractor will provide material for and perform all work to repair and replace valves and fire hydrants, base-wide. The contractor must submit dust/debris plan (see attached AF66) that describes measures to prevent the entrance of dust/debris in the areas where work is to be performed. Contractor must provide submittals of materials to the Civil Engineer. (See Submittals Section Below.)

1.5.2. All materials shall meet or exceed all applicable referenced standards, local requirements, and conform to codes and ordinances of authorities having jurisdiction.

1.5.3. Prepare work site and ensure that dimensions are as indicated on shop drawings.

1.5.4. Coordinate with base authorities to obtain all passes required to enter the work site.

1.6. .INSTALLATION:

1.6.1. Installation shall meet or exceed all applicable federal, state and local requirements, referenced standards and conform to codes and ordinances of authorities having jurisdiction.

1.6.2. All equipment and material installations shall be in accordance with manufacturer’s published specifications and guidelines.

1.6.3. Contractor shall furnish all parts, assembly, and connections during construction.

1.7. EXECUTION

1.7.1. The performance period for this project is 120 calendar days.

1.6.2 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL: Contractor shall generate and send activity reports to the COR at james.bell.69@us.af.mil each week with a summary of work completed and 4 new pictures of completed work each week during the period of performance.

2.0 SPECIFICATIONS – B801 repairs: Contractor SHALL comply with attached specifications on the plans and as follows:

2.1. PART 1 – GENERAL

2.1.1. SUBMITTALS: Manufacturer's product literature, data, and warranty information. Contractor will provide submittals for final selection by Base Civil Engineer from manufacturer’s product catalog.
