(as of 14 May 2024)

RFI 01

Is there a print of existing HVAC and chiller units for this project? Including ductwork beneath and electrical?

RESPONSE: See drawings previously posted in SAM.gov for this solicitation

RFI 02

- The scope of work indicates that there is an existing 12,000 cfm air handling unit and 90 Ton packaged chiller that needs replaced, but doesn’t include identifiers/plan callouts. Please confirm this project includes the replacement of AHU-2, Dining Hall Roof and Air Cooled Chiller #1 on

H2.1?

RESPONSE: Correct. AHU-2 and Chiller #1.

- The scope of work (2.1.B) indicates to install new like-in-kind AHU, 13,000 cfm to replace an existing 12,000 cfm air handling unit. Can the ductwork handle the increased cfm?

RESPONSE: This is a typo in the SOW. Refer to 1.1A. (Revised SOW attached, correcting typo).

- What is the ceiling below the AHU ductwork drops, drywall, lay-in, spline or another kind?

RESPONSE: Lay-in ceiling tile.

- What kind of roof does the air handling unit sit on and is it still under warranty?

RESPONSE: Duro-last type roof, not under warranty.

- Scope of work (2.1.G) states to test and balance the new system. What are the requirements for the TAB – does each diffuser downstream of the unit need balanced or just an overall balance of the new unit? If so, please provide the ductwork layout downstream of unit.

RESPONSE: Existing ductwork layout shown in drawings.

- The project scope of work does not mention disconnecting or reconnecting controls or smoke detectors. Is that included in the scope of work?

RESPONSE: All connections made to the existing equipment must be reinstalled.

- Please provide markup plan where the Crane can be located.

RESPONSE: See drawings site utility plan (previously posted to SAM.gov for this solicitation).

Drive on south side of building will be used for crane staging.
