About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) and Questions & Answers document for solicitation W50S8J26QA018 concerning the replacement of auditorium chairs in Building 34 (Project VBDZ262106), issued on 09 July 2026.
During a site visit on 09 July 2026, a prospective offeror inquired whether the Government would accept an alternate approach to the chair replacement project. The offeror noted that approximately 2-4 year old chairs in the back row of the auditorium remain in good condition and requested clarification on whether a contractor could retain these existing chairs while replacing all other older seating. The Government's response permits offerors to submit quotes under two distinct approaches: Option A (Full Replacement) requires complete replacement of all auditorium chairs as originally specified, while Option B (Partial Replacement & Match) allows contractors to retain the existing newer chairs in the back row and replace all other older chairs with new seating that aesthetically and functionally matches the retained back row. The Government further specified that contractors may submit multiple quotes for either or both options and must refer to the updated Statement of Work (SOW) and Instructions included in the amendment for specific submission requirements regarding technical data and pricing.
Additional questions, clarifications, or RFIs regarding this solicitation must be submitted in writing to the Contracting Officer, Nicholas Bastiani, at nicholas.bastiani.2@us.af.mil, with formal responses provided via amendment posted to SAM.gov.

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) / QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Solicitation Number: W50S8J26QA018
Project Title: Replace Building 34 Auditorium Chairs (Project VBDZ262106)
Date: 09 July 2026
The following question was raised by a prospective offeror during the site visit conducted on 09 July 2026. The Government’s formal response is provided below for the benefit of all potential offerors.
Q1: During the site visit, it was observed that a section of chairs in the very back row of the auditorium is relatively new (approximately 2-4 years old) and still in good condition. If a contractor is able to match these existing chairs, will the Government accept a quote to replace all the chairs except the newer ones in the back row?
A1: Yes. The Government will allow for alternate approaches and will accept multiple quotes from the same contractor. Offerors have the option to submit quotes for either or both of the following approaches:
Option A (Full Replacement): A quote for the complete replacement of all auditorium chairs as originally specified.
Option B (Partial Replacement & Match): A quote that retains the existing newer chairs in the back row but replaces all other older chairs with new seating that aesthetically and functionally matches the retained back row.
Please refer to the updated Statement of Work (SOW) and Instructions included in this amendment for specific instructions on how to submit technical data and pricing for these alternate options.
ADMINISTRATIVE NOTE:
This document serves as the official Government response to the field inquiry from the site visit.
As a reminder, any additional questions, clarifications, or requests for information (RFIs) regarding this solicitation must be submitted in writing to the Contracting Officer at nicholas.bastiani.2@us.af.mil. The Government will provide formal responses to all further inquiries via an amendment posted to SAM.gov.
