About this file
This report summarizes the results of an industrial hygiene survey conducted at the VA Medical Center in Biloxi, Mississippi. The survey inspected painted components in several rooms in Building 3 for the presence of lead-based paint using an X-ray fluorescence analyzer. No lead-based paint was detected on any of the interior surfaces tested, which were reported to be in good condition. The second document is a solicitation seeking offers for a project to correct deficiencies related to lead-based paint remediation work at the same VA Medical Center. This 100% set-aside opportunity for Veteran Owned Small Businesses is issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration VISN 16 and has an opportunity number of 36C25622R0012.

Field Report
Summary Comments:
On 04/13/2022 Charles D. Bingham, Representative of Micro-Methods Laboratory, Inc. performed a limited lead-based paint (LBP) inspection of painted components in rooms 2D 102, 2D 106, 2D 105, 3D 106, 3D 107, 4D 106, and 4D 107 of building 3 at the VA Medical Center, Biloxi, Mississippi at the request of Misty Madison with the
Safety Department. The lead-based paint inspection was conducted using a Niton
X-Ray Fluorescence machine (XRF) to determine the presence of lead-based paint on surfaces. The XRF allowed the inspectors to thoroughly test painted surfaces without damage to the surface or substrate throughout the structure in accordance with HUD
Guidelines for the Evaluation and Control of Lead Based Paint Hazards in Housing, Chapter 7, Lead Base Paint Inspections and the State of Mississippi Regulations for
Lead-Based Paint Activities, Miss. Code Annotated Sections 49-17-501 through
49-17-531.
The following is a summary of the findings.
Items sampled included interior components (see spreadsheet).
All building components sampled had XRF readings less than the HUD action level of
1.0 mg/cm² at the time of this inspection (see attached XRF results).
Lead-based paint was not identified during this inspection. All interior surfaces tested were in good condition.
