The other type of project site location is in a remote area without eye contact with existing permanent facilities. The following procedures shall be engaged such that accuracy of work and verification of site locations are verifiable.

Project Site Locations near Existing Permanent Facilities:

Place a #3 bar, 6-inches in length, painted orange, flush with the ground at the perimeter of the work zone in a location that will not be disturbed. Employing an Electronic Distance Meter, reference this point by angle and distance to three building corners that are more than 90 degrees apart.

Also, reference from the same reference point a minimum of ten distinct construction elements by distinctive points. A few examples are: north-east corner of headwall, back of curb, start of radius of curb return, center of cleanout, center of manhole, etc.

Project Site Locations in Remote Area not in eye contact with Existing Permanent Facilities: In this situation start at the nearest hard surfaced road that is identifiable on the Fort Hood Data Base. Place two #3 bar, 6-inches in length, painted orange flush with the ground, 100 feet apart at a location that will not be disturbed. At each of these points place cross-ties to aide with relocating the points. Employing an Electronic Distance Meter create a coordinate route to the project site location. At each turn in the coordinate route place a #3 bar painted orange flush with the ground at a location that will not be disturbed. Upon reaching the site location record the angle and distance to a minimum of ten distinct construction elements.

Electronic submittals of the Final Record Drawings:

CADD Files: The Contractor shall incorporate all information from the final record drawings into CADD files that conform to the CADD requirements of the Fort Hood CADD System and shall be demonstrated to work on the DPW production version of MicroStation Software.

CADD files shall be error and virus free. Two (2) copies of CADD files shall be provided on compact disks (CD) and appropriately labeled.
