AMENDMENT 0003

Amendment 0003 is hereby incorporated into solicitation SP3300-20-B-0001.

Amendment 0003 is being issued to answer vendor questions.

Question 1 - In the keynote section of the drawings, number 5 states to "adjust hot pipe". What are the specific contractor's requirements in terms of the interior? Is there a masonry wall, etc.?

Answer to Question 1 – The referenced existing steel pipe is a hot steam relief vent. The existing vent currently extends through the existing roof, elbows and extends overtop the existing firewall and releases steam/moisture into Bay 4. The intent of Keynote 5 is to remove the extension pipe and elbow so flashing can be installed overtop existing hot pipe coming through the existing roof and then reinstall the existing elbow and extension pipe venting it onto the Bay 5 side. No work should be required in the building to perform the above adjustment.

Question 2 - Is it possible to revisit the abatement hours of work?

Answer to Question 2 – No, assigned demolition (including asbestos abatement) and disposal hours cannot not be changed due to mission requirements. These were clarified in Amendment 0002.

Question 3 - Will Quad rails and safety nets going be required for a single-story structure?

Answer to Question 3 – Refer to drawing G-001 - Safety and Health Requirement Note 1. It is the contractor’s responsibility to be familiar with these requirements and the requirements will be enforced as part of the project.

Question 4 - Are we install the new system in this way. Install a vapor barrier. Then install red rosin paper. Install 3" of insulation. Mechanically attached. 5/8" Cover board adhered. Adhere a .060 reinforced EPDM.

Answer to Question 4 - Refer to drawing A-101 – Proposed Roof Systems: Main Roof and Dock Roof. The proposed systems are clearly annotated to what is required and the order of installation. Specification Section 07 22 00 Paragraph 3.3 covers how Insulation is to be installed. Cover board is to be 5/8” thick per Proposed Roof System note on Drawing A-101.

Question 5 - Is a hard copy of the Bid-Bond Required?

Answer to Question 5 - The bid bond does not need submitted as hardcopy for this solicitation since the bid submission is being done electronically. Vendors should submit an electronic copy of their bid bond with their bid submission.

All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
