About this file

This Request for Quote (RFQ26006658) is issued by the Rhode Island Army National Guard for the installation of a cooling-dominant HVAC system at the Bristol Armory facility. The project involves furnishing and installing inverter-driven, air-source heat pump equipment to provide cooling to designated spaces and supplemental heating during shoulder seasons while maintaining the existing gas-fired hydronic boiler as the primary heat source. The system includes seven outdoor condenser units ranging from 0.5 to 6 tons (specifically: one 6-ton, one 4-ton, two 3-ton, three 2.5-ton, one 1-ton, and one 0.5-ton unit), matched indoor units selected based on room-by-room cooling loads, and independent zone controls with wireless and wall-mounted controllers. All work must be completed in an occupied building with coordination among ongoing operations and other trades. A non-mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled for Friday, May 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at 470 Metacom Avenue, Bristol, Rhode Island.

All HVAC equipment must operate on 208/230V single-phase power and comply with Build America, Buy America (BABA) requirements with a minimum of 65% domestic content, with documentation required upon submittal. The contractor is responsible for final system design, verification of field conditions, cooling load calculations, shop drawings, control information, equipment cut sheets, and complete system installation, testing, and commissioning. All materials and equipment must utilize R-410A refrigerant or an approved equivalent, meet manufacturer requirements and local codes, and coordinate with the existing hydronic heating system and solar systems. Equivalent equipment from approved manufacturers may be submitted for review. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, supports, dunnage, vibration isolation, electrical disconnects, breakers, and whip connections necessary for a complete and operational system.
