About this file

This is a Performance Work Statement attachment detailing the equipment and safety device inventory subject to inspection and testing services under the boiler safety device testing contract for VA Central California Health Care Systems.

The contractor shall perform monthly inspection and testing activities on three Cleaver Brooks boilers (Model 3WI 200-300-200ST), three boiler economizers manufactured by Cain Industries, associated feed tanks, and steam reducing stations. Pressure vessel inspections are required on the three boiler vessels (waterside, fireside, and integrity inspections), one deaerator tank, and one condensate tank. The safety device testing program encompasses 60 distinct Boiler Equipment Interface (BEI) safety devices requiring regular testing and validation, including high and low water alarms on condensate and deaerator tanks; deaerator overflow drain and safety valve systems; multiple liquid relief valves; carbon monoxide and combustible gas alarms; emergency stop panic buttons; fuel gas pressure alarms and cutoff switches; automatic fuel gas and oil shutoff valves with seat leakage testing; flame scanner systems; igniter timing verification; purge timing validation; forced draft damper proving switches; combustion air pressure switches; furnace pressure interlocks; flue gas recirculation damper interlocks; low oxygen level interlocks; fuel oil pressure controls; atomizing media pressure switches; oil burner position switches; outside air damper and makeup unit interlocks; and steam safety valve accumulation testing at high fire conditions. The inventory specifies quantities for each device and indicates which devices require BEI testing, establishing the comprehensive scope of monthly and annual safety device inspection and testing activities.
