About this file
This is a set of engineering plans from Virginia Energy's Mined Land Repurposing division for the Pepperhill Road Drainage Project located in Coeburn, Virginia. The project involves drainage improvements including the installation of three culverts, erosion control measures, and addressing a slide area. The plans detail specific work including replacing Culvert #1 with 15" HDPE pipe, cleaning out Culverts #2 and #3, installing stone armor areas, implementing straw matting for erosion control, and managing a residential water line in the project area. The plans include site topography, access roads, and existing infrastructure details across six sheets covering the overall site plan, slide area details, drainage profiles, and technical specifications.
The plans show detailed technical requirements including proper staple patterns for erosion control materials, culvert installation specifications requiring minimum 1' cover and 3% grade, and detailed cross-sections showing existing ground conditions and proposed improvements. The project includes temporary anchoring systems for straw blankets and riprap buttressing for slope stabilization. Three elevation profiles (A-A', B-B', and C-C') demonstrate the existing ground conditions and proposed improvements for the slide area, with elevations ranging from approximately 2075 to 2225 feet.
