About this file

This is Addendum No. 1 issued by the Virginia Department of Energy for IFB #25AML08 regarding the Pepperhill Road Drainage project (Commodity: 96273). The addendum provides clarifications to bidder questions about slope repair, profile drawings, and disposal areas. Key updates include confirmation that no slope repair is required beyond securing the existing slope with erosion control blanket and supplementing around the Slide Area with aggregate as directed by the onsite inspector. The profile drawings are confirmed to show existing grade rather than expected grade. The bid due date has been revised to Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 2pm.

The addendum specifies that excavated material disposal will be located against the Highwall near the north of the project area, with exact placement to be determined by the onsite inspector. Bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum by signing and returning it prior to the bid due date, though this signature does not replace the requirement to sign the original bid document. The contracting officer for this project is Jillian Bullock, who can be reached at 276-455-6979.

ADDENDUM NO. 1 TO ALL OFFERORS:

Reference – Request for Unsealed Bid: IFB #:25AML08, Pepperhill Road Drainage Commodity: 96273

Dated: December 11, 2024 Unsealed Bids Due: See Below

The above is hereby adding additional information with the following question/answers:

1. What is the expectation of the slope repair? Any reshaping work expected?

No slope repair. We just need to secure existing slope with erosion control blanket and supplement around the Slide Area with aggregate at the discretion of the onsite inspector. The only excavation at the Slide Area will be digging the anchor trench for the erosion control blanket.

2. Are the profile drawings existing grade, or expected grade?

Profile drawings depict the existing grade.

3. Where is the onsite disposal area?

Disposal area for excavated material will likely be against the Highwall near the north of the project area.

Exact placement will be determined by on site inspector. (See image below)

4. Unsealed bids are now due on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 2pm.

Note: A signed acknowledgment of this addendum must be received at the location indicated on the Unsealed IFB either prior to the bid due date and hour or attached to your bid. Signature on this addendum does not substitute for your signature on the original bid document. The original bid document must be signed.

Sincerely, Jillian Bullock AML Contracting Officer Phone: 276-455-6979
