About this file
This is a set of engineering plans from Virginia Energy's Mined Land Repurposing Abandoned Mine Land Section for the Pepperhill Road Drainage Project located in Wise County, Virginia. The project involves drainage improvements and stabilization work including the installation/replacement of three culverts, treatment of an eroded area with No. 3 stone armor, installation of straw matting for erosion control, and construction of riprap buttresses. The plans detail site conditions through topographic maps, cross-sections, and elevation profiles showing existing ground conditions and proposed improvements.
The technical specifications require HDPE pipe with 1' minimum cover installed at 3% minimum grade, meeting ADS N-12 Poe standards. Erosion control measures include specific staple patterns and installation requirements for rolled erosion control products (RECPs), with detailed instructions for soil preparation, anchoring, and overlap requirements. The project involves coordination with existing infrastructure including a residential water line, septic tank, and access road. All construction activities must be coordinated with the Agency and require proper utility clearance through Miss Utility before excavation begins.
