1. This Amendment 007 Changes Lens from prismatic to the Fresnel by providing the attached revised Specification No. 086223-3.
Amendment No. 007 also provides the following responses to offerors questions:
2. Question: The lead-based paint inspection report includes from Arc includes a cost estimate dated July 13, 20016. Will they be contracted directly with NPS, or are we to include these costs?
Response: Abatement work is to be included in the contractor’s bid as NPS does not intend to contract directly with an abatement contractor. The cost estimate is provided for information only and each bidder will be expected to develop their own pricing for the work rather than taking the costs directly from the estimate.
3. Question: What is the spec for the cement board trim at the Comfort Station?
Response: ASTM C-1186, Type A, Grade II, 1 inch minimum thickness smooth-finished cementitious board factory primed, dimensions as indicated, finished as indicated.
4. Question: What is the spec for the cement board window infill per sheet A1.1?
Response: ASTM C-1186, Type A, Grade II, 0.312 inch minimum thickness smooth-finished cementitious board factory primed, painted to match adjacent stucco.
5. Question: Is spec section 09 03 20 Historic Treatment of Plaster and Stucco intended to also address the new cement stucco at the Comfort Station?
Response: No, the Comfort Station stucco to be provided as part of this project is to match that found on the existing comfort station exterior walls. To the best we have been able to determine, the existing material likely consists of an expanded stainless steel metal lath mechanically fastened to the CMU backup with two coats of a KEIM Universal Render hydrated lime white cement stucco with the first layer having an embedded continuous glass fiber lattice reinforcing mat. This system shall serve as the basis-of-design; however, upon demolition of existing stucco the contractor shall confirm the installed stucco system and propose adjustments to the basis-of-design system as appropriate to match the finished appearance of the existing stucco at new and patched areas.
6. Question: What is the spec for the solid surface material for the replacement toilet partition door?
Response: Specification 12 36 00 Solid Surfacing includes the toilet partition door.
7. Question: Please confirm that irrigation is not included.
Response: Correct, irrigation is not included apart from yard hydrants (hose bibs) as indicated in the documents
8. Question: Are we to include the tel/data wiring, devices, and equipment, or power, boxes, and conduit only?
Response: This question is extremely broad and we would prefer that the contractor expand upon the question to specifically indicate which drawings and/or spec sections he or she believes are not clear as to the scope of telecommunications work.
9. Question: Are we to include the IP video surveillance wiring and equipment, or power, boxes, and conduit only?
Response: The contractor is to provide a fully operational video surveillance system. All equipment, devices, conduit, cabling, power supplies, programming, training – everything to provide the owner with a fully operational system.
10. Question: Please confirm the soil depth at seed and sod areas.
Response: Six inch minimum soil depth at seed and sod areas.
11. Question: Please confirm that the Comfort Station Limited Repairs only includes interior work in the existing restrooms.
Response: Comfort Station Limited Repairs are clearly defined in specification 01 27 00 paragraph 3.1 F.1 items a through i. Items “h” and “i" are exterior elements.
12. Question: Can a Versico product be an approved equal for a Firestone product?
Response: Yes. It must be submitted on the approved equal form for final approval.
The deadline for Offeror questions is 1500 MT September 12, 2017.
