Option B – Audio Kiosk Relocation
Relocate the existing Foundation’s audio headset kiosk from within the Approach Mall paver area to the adjacent tree panel immediately to the southeast. Relocation siting shall be such that the front face of the structure shall be located in alignment with the predominant southeast edge of Mall pavers, centered in the northeast/southwest direction between front‐line trees located closest to the pavers (see Attachment
1 ‐ Schematic Site Plan & Attachment 2 ‐ Schematic Detail, and as approved by park).
The existing one‐story kiosk is approximately 11’ by 13’ with a hipped roof (see Attachment 3, photos).
Construction is believed to be steel tube frame, with framed wood walls and raised floor (see Attachment
4 ‐ Schematics and Attachment 5 ‐ Similar Construction Examples for reference purposes only). Existing framing and footings are believed to be four (4) vertical steel tube columns on base plates anchored to four (4) concrete footings. New, relocated installation shall include four (4) new identical concrete footings with anchors and non‐shrink levelling grout.
Excavate and repair existing underground and leaking water line which feeds the adjacent water spigot.
Neatly backfill excavation flush with adjacent grade.
After kiosk is removed from its current location, the existing Approach Mall pavers and base shall be patched to match existing such that the original continuity of the paver patterns shall be restored uninterrupted.
Existing low evergreen yew hedge plantings shall be interrupted (removed) only as shown to accommodate new relocation. Do not damage existing yews, lawn, pavers, etc. to remain. All yews removed to accommodate the work shall be relocated to the inside curve of the concession building back access path (see Attachment 4). Temporary irrigation shall be provided for a minimum of 6 months after installation.
Prepare new location to receive relocated kiosk. Design‐Build contractor shall determine appropriate grades/elevations and submit plan with all relevant topography and spot elevations for positive and proper drainage. Relocated kiosk shall be set on 4” thick concrete slab on 6 mil polyethylene vapor barrier over 4” thick layer of compacted clean ¾” stone, established in “footprint” of relocated kiosk.
Relocate existing electrical power and phone/data services, in same relative position to kiosk. Provide and install one (1) new 115V weather‐protected exterior power duplex receptacle on back of kiosk.
Relocate existing air conditioning compressor and concrete pad, in same relative position to kiosk.
Relocate existing lightning protection system, in same relative position to kiosk.
Relocate existing temporary irrigation system and any other utility/service as needed to properly and functionally accommodate kiosk relocation.
Do not disturb existing underground utilities (See Attachment 6 ‐ Utilities) and an existing manhole.
Per proposed plan (Attachment 2 ‐ Schematic Detail), provide and install new access path adjacent to northeast end of kiosk. New access shall be red pavers/base to match Mall.
Provide and install new white aluminum corrugated rectangular leaders and green UV‐resistant composite splash blocks for fully functional roof drainage system.
Protect all trees; erect protection fence around adjacent trees at respective drip lines. Repair turf to match existing in all lawn areas disturbed during the work.
Work includes all related labor, materials, equipment, island access/transport as needed, and warranties.
All existing conditions should be reviewed prior to bidding, and any known or discovered discrepancies shall be brought to the CO’s attention in writing. Protect all existing conditions to remain and document any existing damage prior to commencing work, and repair any new damage incurred during/as a result of performing the work.
All work shall be performed in accordance with applicable codes and policy. Relocation access path shall be accessible per ABAAS to greatest extent feasible.
Contractor shall provide work and safety plans for review, coordinate all work with park and park partners.
Contractor shall provide dimensioned plans for approval prior to relocation.
