About this file

This document outlines infection control precautions for a roof replacement project at the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center. During construction, measures such as reducing airborne dust, water misting work surfaces, sealing unused doors, blocking and sealing air vents, installing dust mats at entrances and exits, and removing or isolating exhaust systems within 25 feet of work areas are required. Construction waste must be transported in tightly covered containers and containers without tight lids must be taped before leaving the work area. Only designated construction routes may be used to remove debris. Upon completion, work surfaces must be wiped with cleaner/disinfectant, waste contained and transported as outlined, areas wet mopped and vacuumed with HEPA filters, and any isolated exhaust systems restored. Terminal cleaning is required once work is fully completed. Control measures must remain until all work is finished.

The related federal contract opportunity is solicitation number 36C25622R0086 for project 667-18-104 to replace the roof at the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center. The solicitation is posted by the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 16.
