QUESTION:

Please see below email from the OEM, for your review and response.

Please note that the thrusters were overhauled with new seals and bearings in April 2024. Depending on whether the vessel is planned to be drydocked again within the next 2–3 years, and you currently have no issues, the thrusters should remain in good condition until then.

However, if you would like us to replace the blade seals and carry out a general inspection, we will be happy to attend.

If you would like to proceed with the thruster service, we kindly ask for some additional information to allow us to prepare a recommended spare parts quotation and make the necessary preparations for the overhaul.

If available, please provide the following:

Running hours

Copy of the latest oil sample analysis Any abnormalities or incidents Any active alarms Any known leaks (externally to sea or internally within the thruster motor frame)

However, to safely dock the Vessel from our facility, please concur that the ship can attain FWD 4.706M AFT 4.807M, or lighter, based on below stability booklet, showing an intermediate vessel load.

ANSWER: The ship cannot guarantee it will reach or maintain that load. Per Work Item 0901, The yard may adjust ballast, fuel, or other loads as needed to reach proper trim and stability, but any changes must be approved by the MSC N72 (Naval Architect) first.

As stated in Wok Item 0901, the ship will not assist in removing or transferring fuel, ballast or other liquids; this is fully the yard’s responsibility.

The final decision will be evaluated by MSC N72 (Naval Architect) in accordance with the requirements of Work Item 0901.
