About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for Split Air Conditioning Systems Upgrade on the Berthing Barge YRBM-57, a naval vessel under the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). The work item number is 514-20-001, revised February 19, 2025, and planned by Olen Loftis. The scope encompasses modification and installation of split AC systems across seven locations onboard the barge: Mechanical Room 2-30-1-Q, Stair Tower #2 (2-43-1-Q), Electrical Room 2-59-1-Q, CHT Equipment Room 2-49-1-Q, Stair Tower #3 (2-68-0-Q), Recreation Storeroom (03-67-1-A), and the 03 Level exterior starboard side between frames 66-72.

The contractor must provide all necessary tools, labor, and materials to complete the installation, which includes removal and scrapping of obsolete fan foundations, ducts, and HVAC support brackets; installation of new split AC unit assemblies per specifications; testing and balancing of HVAC systems with allowable air flow deviation of ±10 percent; refrigeration leak testing with zero allowable leakage; and installation of new insulation and stainless steel sheet metal jacketing over refrigerant piping. All work must comply with referenced NAVSEA standards, military specifications (Mil-Std-1310), and manufacturer instructions. Government-furnished materials include two 72-size indoor air handling units with remote controllers, one 96-size indoor unit with controller, one 96-unit outdoor condensing unit at 460V, one 144-unit outdoor condensing unit at 460V, and two 7/8 OD to 3/4 OD reducers. The document contains ITAR-controlled technical information and requires submission of refrigerant charge documentation to the supervisor upon completion.
