CONTRACTOR QUESTION: This paragraph directs Contractor to pump petroleum products to the low suction level of each tank. Since the quantity in each tank could range from low suction to full and the contractor has no way of knowing, please provide bidding parameters such as quantity and type per tank.
Please note that there is a substantial cost for disposal in the Seattle area and quite the disparity exists between types such as fuel, oil and water.
Additionally, the requirement of submitting a petroleum products inventory indicates that the government would like to keep the fluids separate.
If not, perhaps a consideration would be to provide a quantity by type for disposal and delete the reporting requirement.
DO NOT WRITE BELOW THIS LINE
(FOR GOVERNMENT USE ONLY)
Tank capacities and type of fluid are provided in drawing 085-7028432; and the general nomenclature of each tank is listed in paragraph 1.2 of the work item.
The ship is arriving in plant on the first day of DSRA, and will not have the NSE Oily Waste Transfer System available for off-load during docking preparations and placing systems in inactive equipment maintenance (IEM) lay-up.
While the ship is pier side during docking preparations and the contractor to set up for production work; consider all contaminated fluid tanks (Waste Oil, Oily Waste, Waste Water, GTRB Waste Drain, etc.) to be at 95% capacity for off-load and disposal purposes.
Ships force will be able to pump down the Potable Water and VCHT tanks to low suction.
