Amendment 0005 7179548 Upgrade Restrooms DLA Multiple Bldgs.

RFI Responses:

1. On drawing P‐108 (C1), it shows a Backflow Preventer in the Janitor Room but the Fixture Schedule on P‐501 doesn’t have it listed. Could this please be added to the Fixture Schedule?

Response:

See revised Fixture Schedule on NAVFAC Drawing No. 12882213 with revision date of December 10, 2024. Submit proposals in accordance with RFP, Specifications, Drawings and all amendments.

2. Hazardous materials report shows lead paint on drywall at the men’s restroom/shower area

#465 (drawing A‐103). During the site visit I did not encounter any drywall. All the existing walls were painted brick. Please confirm if there is lead based paint at this restroom.

In the Hazardous Materials Report, the reference to Lead Containing Paint for that area is L‐4, pointing to the ‘Existing Drying Room’ outside the shower. The reference L‐4 is indicated on the Sampling Form as “Steam Service Door Paint” at 28 SF in area. Submit proposals in accordance with RFP, Specifications, Drawings and all amendments.

3. Hazardous materials / lead – Will all lead need to be remediated in the project area or just the areas affected by demolition? Not all the of lead positive walls/floors are being demolished, just a section to accommodate new work.

No specific scope of work for abatement is included. The Hazardous Materials report is provided such that the KTR may be aware of existing hazardous materials, should the scope of work require that they encounter such materials. Submit proposals in accordance with RFP, Specifications, Drawings and all amendments.

4. Looking at Drawing P‐104 Detail C1, it is unclear as to where the domestic water starts.

There does not appear to be a line of delineation that shows where the domestic cold water connects to the existing cut‐off point. Looking at Detail A1 (B147 Riser‐Water) on drawing P‐701, it does not show where the domestic cold water connects to the existing piping (demo point) It is unclear as to where the domestic water demo/reconnection point occurs, and it is unclear as to what size domestic cold water pipe diameter shall be where it connects. Can we get this information added in an addendum so that we know where to make this connection point?

See Amendment 003. Submit proposals in accordance with RFP, Specifications, Drawings and all amendments.

5. Looking at drawing P‐105 detail C3 (Partial Construction Plan, Bldg. 147‐ Waste and Vent it is unknown as to where the vent terminates. This drawing does not show where the sanitary

Amendment 0005 7179548 Upgrade Restrooms DLA Multiple Bldgs.

sewer vent exits the room/building. Looking at Detail C4 (B147 Riser‐Waste & Vent) the detail does not show where the vent ties into the existing vent or exits the room/building.

Where this vent terminates is unclear. May we get the vent termination point added to the drawing set via an amended drawing so that we know where this vent ends?

6. Looking at drawing P‐10 detail C3 (Partial Construction Plan, Bldg. 148‐ Waste and Vent it is unknown as to where the vent terminates. This drawing does not show where the sanitary sewer vent exits the room/building. Looking at Detail C3 (B148 Riser‐Waste & Vent) the detail does not show where the vent ties into the existing vent or exits the room/building.

Where this vent terminates is unclear. May we get the vent termination point added to the drawing set via an amended drawing so that we know where this vent ends?

7. Looking at drawing P‐107 Detail C1 (Partial Construction Plan, Bldg. 150‐Water) it is unclear as to what the distance between bathrooms 150‐D and 150‐E is. It appears that the domestic water will exit room 150‐E and continue to enter room 150‐D. The area between the two bathrooms does not appear to be shown in the drawings. What is the total lineal footage between these two bathrooms?

8. Does the project require installation of sprinklers only in the bathroom, or do they need to be installed throughout the building?

Response: Sprinklers must be installed where noted on the drawings.

Submit proposals in accordance with RFP, Specifications, Drawings and all amendments.
