Answer: Aluminum windows to be provided per Window Schedule, sheet A-601.

Answer: Install per detail 2/A-103.

7. Question: Is the soffit exterior sheetrock or vinyl the drawings and the project description contradict?

Answer: Install per detail 2/A-103.

8. Question: Drawing A-103 does not show any downspouts, nor does Roof Plan notes include any mention of these however Spec 07 60 00 requires submittals for gutters and downspouts. Please confirm if gutters and down spouts are required and if so, at what locations.

Answer: Gutters and Downspouts are required. Please see revised drawing A-103 (60039612) noting location of gutters/downspouts.

15. Question: Specification Section 013526-1.7.2.1 - Duties of the SSHO - last paragraph; addresses the three positions of Superintendent, QC Manager, and SSHO as separate individuals. Section 014510-

1.5.1.1 states the QC Manager may also perform the duties of Superintendent. This is a small project to renovate a Head Facility of less than 1,000 sf. in size, under 10 ft. in eave height, and in one location. Using a two-person site management team does not appear necessary and will increase the cost.

Can one person serve as Superintendent/ SSHO/ QC Manager, if qualified for all three positions?

Answer: See response to RFI #1. "One person may fill the roles of Superintendent, QC and SSHO, if qualified for all three positions as defined in the project specification."

16. Question: Spec Sections 07 27 19.01, 07 27 36 and 07 27 36 indicate that an air barrier system is required for the project. However, Drawing A-103, Detail 2 states: “BUILDING ENVELOPE: INSTALL

SELF-EXPANDING INSULATION AND VAPOR BARRIER TO ENSURE CONTINUITY OF

MATERIALS ON ROOF AND WALL PLANE.” Detail 2 references a Vapor Barrier, not an Air Barrier. Can Spec Sections 07 27 19.01, 07 27 36 and 07 27 36 be deleted from the Seed Project Specifications by Amendment?

Answer: Vapor Barrier should also serve as an Air Barrier. See attached revised drawing A-103 (60039612).

17. Question: Spec section 02-82-16 mentions Asbestos disposal. Is there hazardous material report for

AS2818?

Answer: See attached ACM report. Per base Safety and Health Program Manager AS2818 was constructed in 1985 and should not contain ACM. The attached report was generated from an ACM maintenance non-destructive inspection. The contractor must be vigilant in identifying suspected source materials during renovation/demolition.

AS2818 was constructed in 1985 and no lead has been identified within the facility.

18. Question: Drawing G-002 General Notes Roofing #8 – “Contracted generated materials shall be weighed through the base landfill scales before being removed from the base”. Will all trash/debris be required to be weighed on base before removal to outside landfill?

Answer: No. Only hazardous materials are required to be weighed at the base landfill.

19. Question: 1. Section 01 30 00 of the seed project specifications lists attendees for preconstruction conference, under 1.8.1, as superintendent, SSHO and QCM. Under 1.7.1, the superintendent may be permitted to also serve as the QCM.

a. Please confirm that the superintendent can dual-hat as the QCM for the seed project.

b. Please confirm whether the SSHO can be a dual-hatted role and if one superintendent can fill all of these if they meet the qualification requirements.

Answer: See response to RFI #1. "One person may fill the roles of Superintendent, QC and SSHO, if qualified for all three positions as defined in the project specification."

Question: For future projects, and especially those at sites other than Camp Lejeune, please indicate whether we should expect to staff with separate site supervision for projects running simultaneously with Camp LeJeune or if superintendents from this main site location can also oversee these additional projects.

Answer: Per Specification section 01 30 00 1.7.3: The superintendent or qualified alternative must be on-site at all times during the performance of this contract until the work is completed and accepted.

21. Question: The seed project specification includes section 02 82 16 asbestos abatement. Please confirm that the seed project does not include the need for asbestos abatement.

Answer: See response to RFI #17. "See attached ACM report. Per base Safety and Health Program Manager AS2818 was constructed in 1985 and should not contain ACM. The attached report was generated from an ACM maintenance non-destructive inspection. The contractor must be vigilant in identifying suspected source materials during renovation/demolition.

AS2818 was constructed in 1985 and no lead has been identified within the facility."

22. Question: Drawing G-002 General Notes Roofing #8 - "Contracted generated materials shall be weighed through the base landfill scales before being removed from the base." Will all trash/debris be required to be weighed on a base before removal to outside landfill?

Answer: See response to RFI #18. "No. Only hazardous materials are required to be weighed at the base landfill. "
