I. PRE-PROPOSAL INQUIRIES

PPI#1

QUESTION: 08 31 00 Access flooring is shown in the specifications, however, no access flooring is found on the drawings. Please confirm that no access flooring is required for this project.

RESPONSE: Specification 08 31 00 is for ACCESS DOORS AND PANELS. There is no access flooring in the project.

PPI#2

QUESTION: 23 09 23.02 Is the control spec open or do the controls have to be an extension of an existing system?

RESPONSE: Per Specification 23 09 00, Section 1.1.1 Control System Vendor Requirement states 'The control system provided under this section must be Johnson Controls Metasys.'

PPI#3

QUESTION: Specialized modular trailers generally have a lead time of about three weeks due to labor availability. In addition, submittals will have to be approved and submittal review times alone will consume much of the time granted time for this upfront phase of work. After the trailer is onsite, there are multiple trades such as communications, HVAC, utilities, asphalt etc. to complete a fully functional turn key facility. We are asking that the government reconsider the timeline to have the non-premanent trailers completed. It is our estimation that phase 0 will take closer to 5 months to complete and punch out.

RESPONSE: Schedule will be revised to 5 months. SEE BELOW

PPI#4

QUESTION: The time provided to complete Phase 1 is insufficeint for the amount of work being performed. Lead times for electircal compnents, lab casework, and DDC systems will far exceed the time granted to complete this phase of work. We are asking the government to reconsider the timeline to have phase 1 completed. It is our estimation that phase 1 will take closer to 7 months to complete and punch out.

RESPONSE: Schedule will be revised to 7 months. SEE BELOW

PPI#5

QUESTION: Is it feasible to leave the existing water line in place to connect the temporary facilities?

RESPONSE: It is possible to leave the existing waterline in place to serve the temporary facilities.

The contractor is responsible for determining the water demand for the temporary facility and

N40085-23-R-2887 confirming there will be sufficient flow and pressure.

PPI#6

QUESTION: For the temporary sewer, is it acceptable to core the existing SSMH just north of the temp facilities and patch when complete?

RESPONSE: It is acceptable to core drill the manhole and patch when complete to match adjacent.

PPI#7

QUESTION: Can the Superintendent triple hat as the SSHO and QCM?

RESPONSE: Specifciation 01 35 26 GOVERNMENTAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS, section

1.7.1.1.1 states 'The SSHO may not serve as the Quality Control Manager. The SSHO may not serve as the Superintendent.'
