About this file

This document contains design revision notes and drawings for a federal construction contract to repair a runway and support instrument landing system installation at Naval Station Norfolk. The work includes asphalt and concrete pavement maintenance and repairs, runway markings, demolition of paved islands, partial reconstruction of the runway, support for ILS installation through demolition and installation of antenna foundations and equipment, airfield signage electrical improvements, and incidental related work. Revisions provide clarification on concrete storage areas, protection of airfield lights during construction, adjusting demolition notes, and specifications for light fixture protection and manhole construction. The opportunity was solicited under solicitation number N40085-20-R-0044 by the Department of the Navy NAVFAC for a construction start of June 2020 through December 2020 at Chambers Field at Naval Station Norfolk.
