Notice No. 1 30 July 2024
RFP N4008424R0058
JAPANESE TRANSLATION SERVICE IDIQ FOR NAVFAC FE
NOTE: The following schedule is provided for INFORMATION ONLY. The RFP remains unchanged unless it is amended in writing on a Standard Form 30.
Request for Information Questions and Responses
1. Can you tell me how to successfully navigate your system so that I have a chance of actually winning a bid?
ANSWER: All necessary information of the systems necessary for providing an offer is stated in Standard Form (SF) 1449. Please follow the instructions in ADDENDUM 52.212-1.
2. Is it just about money? Translation and interpreting are not things, like nuts and bolts, that are all the same material and spec. It's a hand made product by a craftsperson, so the prices also vary.
ANSWER: Review the RFP (SF1449). The offer needs to meet the Price and Non-Price Factors.
3. Is there a spec for translation? For example, manuals are not difficult to translate, but managing a large volume is usually barrier for individuals.
ANSWER: The Performance Work Statement is the Specification of the basic contract. The specification of each task order or GCPC ordering will be provided by each Request for Proposal
(RFP).
4. Will there be any feedback on our proposal? Or will it be "success" or silence?
ANSWER: The response to the questions will be provided by notices or amendments.
Amendments will be issued if any changes are made on the Performance Work Statement
(PWS).
5. PWS. 1.1.1 SCOPE / MISSION. The Contractor shall be legally registered company to conduct business in Japan and have an office in Japan. If a prime does not have an office in Japan, can they use a subs office to meet this requirement?
ANSWER: If the offer has a subsidiary office in Japan, it is acceptable.
