About this file
This document is a letter from the Commanding Officer of the Naval Ordnance Safety and Security Activity, transmitting the final approval from the Department of Defense Explosives Safety Board (DDESB) for Amendment 1 to the Explosives Safety Submission (ESS) for renovations to Buildings 28, 154, and 164 at the Naval Support Facility Indian Head in Maryland.
The amendment expands the scope of the munitions response to include construction support for the repair of the water utility system component within Installation Restoration Site 24. Additional explosives safety quantity distance maps have been included in the appendix. The initial ESS requirements and stipulations remain in effect. Any future changes that could increase explosives hazards will require an amendment to be submitted through the Naval Ordnance Safety and Security Activity to the DDESB for review and approval.
