CLARIFICATION SPECIFICATION

Bidder(s) Question/Answer 30

Question 30

Please see Bidder’s Questions 14 and 29 and answers provided by the government. Request provide further clarification as follows for providing temporary services to a berthing barge assigned to a ship’s repair/dry docking availability at a contractor’s (non-government) facility:

A. CLIN 0002AC states “provide and install all services required to accomplish the requirements of the task order to include … (within 60 miles radius of Mayport Naval Station at contractor’s facility)”. As stated by the government in the answers to questions14 and 29, “these temporary services are usually included in a separate work item included in the ship’s repair package.” This means that these services would be provided under a separate work item/contract.

Based on the above, it is recommended that CLIN 0002AC be deleted in its entirety as these temporary services will be provided and installed under a separate work item/contract by the

MSR contractor and will not be a part of this berthing barge contract.

B. If this CLIN cannot be deleted, unknown cost factors such as cost of basic services; security requirements; parking requirements; each company’s unique work requirements; unknown travel costs; unknown safety/environmental requirements and unknown insurance and liability requirements will need to be identified for each of these non-government contractor facilities.

Answer:

CLIN 0002AC will remain as written. Efforts included on the CLIN will be provided by the contractor.
