REQUEST FOR SPECIFICATION CLARIFICATION #04
SPECIFICATION ITEM NO.: 103
PARAGRAPH / SECTION NO: Paragraph 7.1.1
TITLE: CHAIN LOCKER SUMP PRESERVATION AND STEEL REPAIRS (VR016-018)
In review of paragraph 7.1.1 of WI# 103, this offeror finds:
7.1.1 Remove Port and Stbd chain from chain locker using installed equipment. Place chain on a barge or other location; (or lower into the river, check w/ chief mate...).
QUESTION:
If the successful Offeror is located in the SF Bay, and not a river as cited in paragraph 7.1.1; shall the Offeror understand that the Anchors and Chains can be deployed into the bay in lieu of using a barge?
ANSWER:
1. The contractor shall bid the WI as it is written. If the contractor is the successful bidder we can discuss this issue with the ship, PE and contracting officer once we get to the yard. All changes will have to be approved by the contracting officer.
