QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS #1

The following are answers to questions received from potential offerors. The answers provide clarification only and DO NOT constitute an amendment to the solicitation.

QUESTION #1:

SPECIFICATION ITEM: 908

TITLE: Renew Seachest, Rope Guard and Bow Thruster Zincs

The following anodes need more information in order to provide accurate pricing:

e. Rope Guard: Seven (7) ea. Bolt on Slotted Plate type, approx 5 lbs

g. Bow Thruster Hub: Six (6) ea. Art. No. 992050, Item No 69, Anode JOTUN or equal

ANSWER:

Bidder to utilize information provided within Para 3.1.2 to supplement information within Para 3.2.1.

No additional information is required

QUESTION 2:

SPECIFICATION ITEM: 951

TITLE: Firemain Overboard Piping Renewal & Cord Replacement

Item calls for replacement of schedule 80 90:10 CuNi pipe. This is normally CL-200 seamless, please confirm.

ANSWER:

Please utilizing material referenced within the Work Item.

QUESTION 3:

SPECIFICATION ITEM: 232; SECTION 2.1

TITLE: MDE Fuel Oil Flex Piping Replacement (T-ALT 449)

Please provide the following reference:

QUESTION 4:

SPECIFICATION ITEM: 021; SECTION 7.3.1 / 7.9 / 7.7.2

TITLE: Clean and Gas Free Tanks, Voids, Cofferdams and Spaces

1) Paragraph 7.3.1 … “Contents to be temporarily stored are indicated in the enclosure.” Please clarify what and how much is to be stored. Enclosure 2.2.1 lists arrival condition and fuel and lube oil. Is the Contractor to assume that 50 LT of Cargo fuel, 5819 LT of fuel oil and 6685 gallons of LO is to be pumped and stored?

2) Will the 4 potable water tanks need to be super chlorinated and tested?

3) Will the 4 potable water tanks need to be super chlorinated and tested?

4) Will the 4 potable water tanks need to be super chlorinated and tested?

5) Paragraph 7.7.2 mentions staging. Please indicate where and how much staging is expected to be necessary.

1. No temporary storage of liquids is expected.

2. Yes.

4. Yes.

5. Staging is required at the discretion of the Contractor and Subcontractor, as needed to complete the scope of work.

QUESTION 5:

SPECIFICATION ITEM: 101

TITLE: Ballast Tank Zinc Inspection

1) The item names (14) tanks to have zinc inspections done. (12) are included in item 021. Two are not, Salt Water Ballast Tank (6-30-1) and Salt Water Ballast Tank (6- 30-2). Should the Contractor include open/close/light/vent and clean in item 021 or item 101?

ANSWER:

Work Item 021 shall be revised to reflect to ensure all proper tank requirements. All tank requirements shall be covered under Work Item 021.

QUESTION 6:

SPECIFICATION ITEM: 109

TITLE: Hull Gauging

This item is included in the written items, but is not included on the pricing sheets.

Please clarify.

Solicitation shall be revised to include the Work Item in all documents.

QUESTION 7:

SPECIFICATION ITEM: 842

TITLE: Louver Mesh Frames (VRR15-032)

This item is included in the written items, but is not included on the pricing sheets.

Please clarify.

ANSWER:

Solicitation shall be revised to include the Work Item in all documents.

QUESTION 8:

SPECIFICATION ITEM: 908; SECTION: 3.1.2 / 3.2.1

TITLE: Renew Seachest, Rope Guard and Bow Thruster Zincs

Paragraph 3.1.2 Quantity calls for 60 anodes but paragraph 3.2.1 bill of materials lists 57.

Please clarify.

ANSWER:

Quantity required shall be 60 (sixty) anodes.

QUESTION 9:

SPECIFICATION ITEM: 565; SECTION: 3.2 / 7.1.11

TITLE: LTFW Cooler SW Piping Mods (T-ALT 238)

PARA 3.2 Does not make mention of replacement flanges nor valves called out by para.

7.1.11. Shall the contractor assume 6 each valves and 12 each flanges are to be procured and replaced?

ANSWER:

Valves and flanges are included under Para 4.2. Contractor is suggested to review the Reference drawings for the subject Work Item for understanding of the requirements of this installation.

QUESTION 10: 902

SPECIFICATION ITEM: 908

TITLE: Drydock Extension

Item 902 is listed as both Category “A” and Category “B”. Please advise which is correct.

ANSWER:

Work Item 902 is only listed as Category “B”.
