COSAL STOREROOM VIDMAR CABINET MOUNTING - AMENDED
1.0 ABSTRACT:
1.1 This item describes the requirement to mount seven (7) Vidmar cabinets to the deck of the COSAL Storeroom.

3.1.2 Description:
a. Stud Weld 28 studs to deck of COSAL Storeroom to mount seven (7) Vidmar Cabinets.
b. Repair any damage caused to the tank coating of 3C and 3S Cargo F.O. Tank by stud welding of studs.

4.0 GOVERNMENT-FURNISHED EQUIPMENT/MATERIAL/SERVICES:

5.0 NOTES
5.1 The contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier must consult the General Technical Requirements (GTR) to determine applicability to this work item. In performance of this work item, the contractor and all subcontractors regardless of tier must comply with the requirements of all applicable GTR’s.
5.2 The contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier are advised to review other work items under this contract to determine their effect on the work required under this work item. Many of the definitions relating to performance of this work item are found in Work Item 001.
5.3 COSAL Storeroom and 3C and 3S Cargo Fuel Oil Tanks require Gas Free certificates prior to entry and paint removal. The Contractor shall notify the Marine Chemist, Port Engineer and Chief Engineer prior to commencement of work for deck plate inspections.
5.4 Provide all staging and floating platforms necessary to perform work.
5.5 Provide all pumping/transportation/disposal of waste water and debris generated by this work item.
5.6 Cleaning and gas freeing shall be covered under Work Items 20 and 21. Closure of tank shall be covered under Work Items 20 and 21.
6.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS: None additional.
7.0 STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIRED:
7.1 The Contractor and Ships Force shall document “as-found” conditions. All deficiencies shall be submitted to the MSCREP for review.
7.1.1 Deficiencies noted during this inspection shall be corrected and the MSCREP shall be given the opportunity to inspect and approve the corrective measures before work begins.
7.2 Observe the location where Vidmar cabinets are to be mounted and mark the deck as to where securing studs will be welded.
7.3 Mechanically clean each spot on the deck where studs are to be welded.
7.4 Weld each of the 28 total studs to the deck.
7.5 Prime and paint around the disturbed areas of the welded stud.
7.5.1 Priming and painting will be in accordance with PPG Paint representative recommendation.
7.6 Mount each Vidmar Cabinet with contractor furnished hardware.
7.7 Inspect the overhead of Cargo Fuel Tank NO. 3C and 3S in the presence of an MSC Representative for damage caused by stud welding.
7.7.1 If damage is observed consult PPG Paint representative for guidance on repair.
7.7.2 Follow Note 5.4 for erecting scaffolding or staging to accomplish repair.
7.7.2 Repair damage using provided PPG Paint.
7.7.3 Inspect repair in the presence of and MSC Representative and PPG Paint representative.
8.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: None additional.
