About this file
This is a First Article Test Procedure document for the IM-272A/WDQ Airborne Noise test, prepared under Contract No. N00167-19-C-0005 by Spectral Labs Incorporated (SLI), with a contractor address of 15920 Bernardo Center Drive, San Diego, CA 92127. The document is classified as Unclassified and is identified as CDRL A001, DID DI-NDTI-80603A, with revision X3 dated 28 May 2020. Distribution is authorized to US Government Agencies and their contractors for administrative and operational use, with other requests to be referred to Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA 04ND).
The test procedure characterizes the airborne noise signature of the IM-272A/WDQ equipment in both First Article and Production Inspection configurations. Testing must be conducted per MIL-STD-740-1 paragraph 5, with the test article configured with front cover and access door installed and secured, power cable attached, and the unit powered on during testing. The procedure requires a low noise background room and specialized equipment including a custom sub-base and mounts manufactured by SLI. Testing involves collecting unweighted (Z-scale) 1/3-octave and narrowband data from five microphone positions positioned 1 meter from the center of each face of the equipment. Acceptance criteria are determined by contractor personnel with access to the Air Particle Detector (APD) Noise Limit Specification, which is classified CONFIDENTIAL and contained in a separate document. The test procedure includes functional tests before and after noise data collection, with all measurements to be recorded in accordance with MIL-STD-740-1 paragraph 5.2. Reference documents include the IM-272A/WDQ Performance and Testing Specification (Revision 02, dated 08 March 2019) and the Functional Test Procedure 001551.
