Section C - Descriptions and Specifications
IM-272A/WDQ RADIACMETER
1. SCOPE
1.1. Scope: This Statement of Work (SOW) defines the requirements for the procurement of IM-272A/WDQ
RADIACMETER (hereafter referred to as IM-272A/WDQ) production units, configuration audit, quarterly program reviews, Government Furnished Property Inspection, Replacement and Repair, and data.
1.2. Background: The IM-272A/WDQ Technical Data Package and initial production units were developed under previous contracting efforts. Difficulties in meeting the requirements set forth in Next Generation Air Particle
Detector – Factory Vibration Acceptance Criteria; Approval with Comment (U), dated 01 Dec 2014
(CONFIDENTIAL) (specified herein at section 2), exist. The pump’s (part number 8690704) normal performance has caused a 40% failure rate when testing the IM-272A/WDQ production unit to the airborne and structure-borne noise requirements under previous production runs.
1.3. Introduction: The Navy uses the IM-272A/WDQ to monitor nuclear powered vessels for airborne radioactive contamination. Production units are necessary to initiate fielding to the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program
(NNPP).
2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS
The applicable documents identified below, will be provided as Government Furnished Information (GFI).
IM-272A/WDQ Performance and Testing Specification
IM-272A/WDQ Interface Design Description for Air Particle Detector (APD)
