Section C - Descriptions and Specifications

IM-272A/WDQ RADIACMETER

1. SCOPE

1.1. Scope: This Statement of Work (SOW) defines the requirements for the procurement of IM-272A/WDQ

RADIACMETER (hereafter referred to as IM-272A/WDQ) production units; configuration audit; quarterly program reviews; Inspection, Replacement, and Repair; management; engineering changes; data deliverables;

and upgrades and modifications to existing IM-272s.

1.2. Background: The IM-272A/WDQ Technical Data Package and initial production units were developed under previous contracting efforts. Difficulties in meeting the requirements set forth in Next Generation Air Particle Detector – Factory Vibration Acceptance Criteria; Approval with Comment (U), dated 01 Dec 2014 (CONFIDENTIAL) (specified herein at section 2), exist. Historically, when tested, the IM-272A/WDQ production units experience a 40% failure rate compared to the airborne structure-borne noise requirements under previous production runs.

1.3. Introduction: The Navy uses the IM-272A/WDQ to monitor nuclear powered vessels for airborne radioactive contamination. Production units are necessary to initiate fielding to the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program

(NNPP).

2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS

The applicable documents identified below, will be provided as Government Furnished Information (GFI).
