N00167-16-R-0014 Question Set 2
Q. Reviewing our interpretation of Dist C; do suppliers have to have been prime or could they be subcontractors (that we have previously used on government programs)?
Does this also apply to the COTS components that are Distribution D on the Assembly Drawing?
A. Department of Defense Instruction (DDI) 5230.24, which provides the guidance for the distribution statements, defines a contractor as “an individual or organization outside the U.S. Government who has accepted any type of agreement or order to provide research, supplies, or services to a U.S. Government agency, including both prime contractors and subcontractors.”
The Government uses the DDI definition of contractor as including both the prime and subcontractors in regards to the distribution of Distribution C and D documents.
File details come from the government source that posted it. Updated .
