ATTACHMENT 11 – SHIP AVAILABILTY SCHEDULE
Factor 1.1: Definitions
N00039-17-R-0043 Attachment 11
Definitions
1. Builder Trials (BT): Evaluation trials and inspections conducted underway by the builder to assure the builder and the Navy that the ship is, or will be, ready for Acceptance Trials.
2. Carrier Incremental Availability (CIA): Short availability period prior to or following RCOH.
3. Crew Move Aboard (CMA): Date when SHIPS FORCE Personnel transition onboard to work on the ship. It is critical they can conduct day-to-day operations, so certain C4I systems must be operational to support them.
4. Delivery: Date when the ship is delivered (or re-delivered in case of RCOH) to the Navy. This milestone is preceded by
Builders Trials (BT) and Acceptance Trials (AT).
5. Early Start Work (ESW): Period assigned for prepping for RCOH activities.
6. Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) Required In-Yard Date (RIYD): Date when all GFE must be delivered to ship. For
CVN A & B, these dates are specified in the DD&C contract so the shipbuilder can install for equipment on board.
7. Initial Post-Delivery Availability (IPDA):
8. Just in Time Delivery (JITD): Planned date when GFE is to be delivered to the shipyard.
9. Obligation Work Limiting Date (OWLD): Date when all SCN-funded work must be complete on the ship.
10. Post Shakedown Availability (PSA): For CVN A & B, this availability fixes all Trial Card issues. It is also the window where the CANES LAN Drops are completed (roughly 2,500 Drops).
11. Post-Delivery Availability (PDA): A variable-duration period assigned by the TYCOM for the conduct of selected trials and tests peculiar to the anti-air warfare, strike warfare, amphibious warfare, anti-surface warfare and antisubmarine warfare (ASW) systems.
12. Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH) Start: Contractual start date for RCOH activities.
13. Shipbuilder DD&C contract Awarded: Planned date when NAVSEA (PMS 312, 377, or 379) will award the shipbuilding contract for the construction of the ship.
