About this file
The document is a Manufacturers List form for a bidding process, specifically related to the City of Carmel, Hamilton County, Indiana's 2026 Rock Salt for Drinking Water Softening contract opportunity. The form provides instructions to bidders regarding the submission of manufacturer information for equipment items, requiring bidders to list a single manufacturer for each equipment item and noting that failure to do so may render the bid non-responsive. The document emphasizes that equipment substitutions will only be permitted with the owner's prior consent, and that preliminary acceptance of listed manufacturers does not waive compliance with drawing and specification requirements.
The associated contract opportunity involves procuring approximately 12,000 tons of Coarse Southern United States Rock Salt for drinking water softening, with specific requirements that the salt meet American Water Works Association (AWWA) specification B200-22 and be NSF60 compliant. Bids will be accepted electronically through the City's e-Procurement Portal until 9:00 am on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. The rock salt must be clean and free of dirt and debris, indicating stringent quality standards for the water treatment application. The manufacturers list form serves as a critical component of the bidding process, ensuring transparency and standardization in equipment and material selection.
