About this file
The Data Item Description outlines requirements for a Contractor's Configuration Management Plan to be submitted under a federal contract. The plan must describe the contractor's configuration management program including how it is organized and how configuration identification, change control, status accounting, and audits will be conducted for hardware, software, and firmware. Content and format are at the contractor's discretion but should reference standards like ANSI/EIA-649-1998 and ISO 10007 for configuration management guidelines.
The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation from the United States Marine Corps to acquire a Man-Portable, Modular MAGTF Common Handheld system. The system will allow warfighters to acquire targets in various visibility conditions and control close air support, artillery, and naval fire missions as well as provide integrated C2/SA information to tactical commanders on the move using digital communications.
