CONTRACTOR QUESTION
SUBJECT: Smoke Generator Power Requirements
SPECIFIC QUESTION:
Please clarify the smoke generator requirements to remove battery and solar power, as well as powered from SAT & MAT. To provide the smoke output (volume and duration) and other capabilities required will draw in excess of 1500Watts (this was verified with multiple vendors). This can not reasonably be supported by batteries or solar panels, or the SAT, and would severely limit MAT operability (would need to return to docking station after short duration) and would actually require a sizeable (portable) generator to do so.
The only smoke generators currently available that operate on battery power are very small hand held units, typically used to verify (low volume/velocity) airflow such as around wall penetrations
