QUESTIONS

1) QUESTION: Does the floating festoon need to travel past the hoist. ANSWER: Yes

2) QUESTION: What is the tread-line measurement? ANSWER: 25'-0" AFF

3) QUESTION: Supply information from task where electrification was upgraded. ANSWER: The conductor bars are Electromotive FS-250.

In order to expedite the installation, we are going to replace the bridge festoon. (contract change)

4) QUESTION: Can both cranes be worked on at the same time? ANSWER: In order to minimize the impact on production, only one crane can be kept down at a time.

5) QUESTION: Does travel have to be replaced with tractor drive or can it be another steel wheel drive?

ANSWER: We don't have a problem with steel wheel drives, provided they are a model that is currently in production and parts are currently being manufactured and they have geared reducers which are standard items of manufacturers regularly engaged in the design and manufacture of gear reducers for Class C cranes.

6) QUESTION: Can the interlock be removed? ANSWER: Yes

7) QUESTION: Do hoists need to be cross mounted? ANSWER: No, but we can't give up any available reach into the center of the hangar. Hook approach is approximately 3" inside the runway rail closest to the center of the hangar.

8) QUESTION: Can you provide hoist drawing or model number. ANSWER: Model# 309205. See attached manual from P&H.

9) QUESTION: Can diesel forklifts operate in the hangar? ANSWER: Yes with stipulations. See 11200.1 attached, page 10-7 paragraph 41. Rules come from NFPA 505

10) QUESTION: What are the potential installation scheduling conflicts, and how would that affect the contractor?

ANSWER:

There is a potential for delays in moving aircraft to allow for space for contractors to work on Hangar Cranes. The Government will make every effort to adhere to the installation schedule that is coordinated between the Government and contractor after submittal packages have been approved by the Government per section 4.2.1.

Only one (1) Hangar Crane will be down at any given time, and therefore, the contractor will only be allowed to work on (1) crane at a time.
