About this file

This document appears to be a technical drawing titled "Typical Interface - Internal Cryogenics with Cryostat". It depicts the interface between the internal cryogenics piping system and the cryostat for the LBNF (Long Baseline Neutrino Facility) project. The drawing shows the key components, including the process pipe, vacuum jacket, flanges, and other connecting elements.

The related federal contract opportunity is for the "LBNF Internal Cryogenics" project, Solicitation Number LBNF-357777-JD. The scope of the RFP includes the engineering, manufacturing, packing, and delivery of the internal cryogenics piping systems for the first two LBNF cryostats. The successful bidder will provide thirty (30) vacuum insulated and uninsulated cryogenic transfer lines and their supports to the cryostat, as defined in the technical specification and attached documents and drawings.

Typical Interface - Internal Cryogenics with Cryostat

The drawing represents a typical interface between Internal Cryogenics piping (the scope), cryostat and another piping. All grey elements are not part of the scope. The elements are as follow:

The interface between the Internal Cryogenics (IC) and the Cryostat is on the CF flanges (3 and 8).

The IC CF flange (3) shall be welded to the outside of vacuum jacket (1) at a certain level (TBD by the final design) below the end of the pipeline, where it is to interface with another piping.

The IC process pipe (2) shall protrude above its vacuum break (4) to create interface with infrastructure cryogenics piping (6).

A muff ring (5) shall be welded to the outside of the vacuum jacket (1) as well.

If the pipeline is not vacuum insulated the CF flange (3) must be welded directly to the process pipe (2). In this case there is no vacuum break (4), muff ring (5) nor muff (7).
