CONTRACT
Question
Answer
1. Is the design intent to truly attempt to collect vibration data on all 150 assets each month, or allocate a set amount of time per visit (1-3 days) and collect as much as we can during that set time period??
We plan to keep the same cycle as typically only about 50 assets are in service in a time of visit. Not knowing which asset is running at any given day I included them in the list although the list is fluid and can fluctuate from say 40 assets to 60 depending on what is running at the time. Many assets here are redundant asset and only run when the primary is out of service
2. Is the design intent to collect mechanical IR on the same assets that we are performing vibration monitoring on, even though it could be considered by some, a redundant inspection? Or is the mechanical IR intended for inspection of insulation, flow or other issues tied to the designated assets?
This is intended to provide a back-up of or additional technology data to assist in Failure
Cause Analysis
3. Is the design intent to collect airborne ultrasound on any compressed air device that directly supports operation of the 150 designated assets (i.e. air operated damper, valve, etc.)?
Yes-This is intended to provide a back-up of or additional technology data to assist in
Failure Cause Analysis. This data will assist the CPP for future scope of this Technology possibly steam trap analysis. But right not the steam traps are not included. Only the assets being listed and their associated drivers and or possible detect proper grease volume in motors was the intent
4. What predictive maintenance technologies do they currently use?
The CPP has a few in-house IR cameras and a vibration meter but no real analytical engineer running it or program other than Procedural - Time Based, Preventive Maintenance program.
5. What company currently performs the above technologies?
None as stated above
7. Does a single vendor have to perform all of the technologies or can 4 different companies each perform a task?
A single vendor is allowed to sub-contract any part as long as we only deal with one contractor. i.e. Oil analysis would be a typical sub-contractor and they would report to you.
8. Are we to transport the samples from the AOC facility for shipment from our office to our lab? Or will AOC handle the shipment of the samples from AOC to our lab (and cost)?
All shipping and transporting samples would be on the contractor.
9 Will the quoter be responsible for start the equipment for testing?
Predictive Maintenance Services
RFQPPA180119
No , The Capitol Power Plant mechanics will be the one to do the starting of all equipment
10. Are the Big Chillers included in this solicitation?
Yes they are.
11. Who had the contract last?
Seam Group.
