About this file
This is Addendum #1 to an Invitation to Bid (ITB) issued by the City of Ocala, Florida for the replacement of a 275-ton air-cooled chiller system at City Hall and the Customer Service Center. The project involves supplying and installing a new chiller unit to replace an existing 200-ton York chiller. A mandatory pre-bid meeting was held on November 10, 2025 at 10:00 AM at City Hall, 110 SE Watula Ave, Ocala, FL 34471. An optional site visit for vendors and subcontractors who attended the mandatory meeting is scheduled for November 21, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with follow-up questions due through ProRFx by November 24, 2025 at 5:00 PM. Bidders must be licensed mechanical contractors in Florida with a minimum of five years of experience in mechanical services.
The addendum clarifies that temporary cooling will not be required if the contractor can complete the chiller shutdown and replacement over a weekend (Friday midday through Monday morning). The scope includes disconnecting and reconnecting the existing Honeywell building controls system, with the awarded contractor responsible for coordination and commissioning. The contractor must also modify the steel enclosure structure surrounding the chiller by cutting existing steel and welding mounting plates to allow future removal and reinstallation of the top section. The 5-year Total Maintenance and Repair pricing item previously listed in Exhibit B has been removed from the scope. An amended Exhibit B reflecting this change has been uploaded for bidder reference.
