About this file
This is a lighting plan sheet for the Glendale Fire Station construction project being developed by the Walton County Board of County Commissioners in Florida. The document is a first floor plan drawing (Sheet E1.2) for the electrical lighting layout of the 8,120-square-foot fire station facility, prepared by Applied Research and Design, Inc. and dated March 4, 2024. The plan depicts the lighting design for all functional areas of the station, including the garage, dining room, day area, corridors, conference room, utility closet, bathrooms, kitchen, shower facilities, gear room, compressor room, sprinkler room, seven bunk rooms, recreation room, and administrative spaces. The facility is designed to meet 2017 Florida Building Code standards. Sealed bids for the overall construction project were due by 3:00 P.M. on May 16, 2024, subsequently extended to May 23, 2024, with a non-mandatory pre-bid conference held on April 30, 2024. The project timeline allows 220 calendar days for substantial completion from the Notice to Proceed, with liquidated damages of $1,700 per day for delays in substantial completion and $850 per day for final completion delays.
The estimated total project cost is approximately $2.8 million, with the county having budgeted the full amount. Bidders must be licensed General Contractors in accordance with Walton County Ordinance 2009-01 and are required to submit a 5% bid bond along with performance and payment bonds. The project site is located northeast of the intersection of SR-83 and County Highway 2 on a 7.58-acre undeveloped site, and water and sewer services are currently unavailable at the location, requiring comprehensive infrastructure development as part of the project scope. Contractors must obtain a County Building Permit and comply with local vendor preference considerations. The procurement appears open to all qualified general contractors with no specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises noted in the documentation.
