The estimated project cost is approximately $2.8 million, with the County having budgeted the full amount for the project. The project timeline allows 220 calendar days for substantial completion from the Notice to Proceed, with liquidated damages assessed at $1,700 per day for substantial completion delays and $850 per day for final completion delays. Water and sewer services are currently unavailable at the site, requiring comprehensive infrastructure development. All questions must be directed through the County's e-Procurement portal, and directing inquiries to any other staff or project personnel will result in bid disqualification. The facility will be designed to meet 2017 Florida Building Code standards and will include garage areas, bunk rooms, living quarters, administrative spaces, and support facilities.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR INVITATION TO BID
ITB NO: 24-29 GLENDALE FIRE STATION
INTRODUCTION: Sealed bids for the Glendale Fire Station will be received by the Walton County Board of County Commissioners, hereinafter referred to as "County" at:
Office of Central Purchasing
176 Montgomery Circle
DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435
BIDS WILL BE RECEIVED UNTIL 3:00 P.M. LOCAL TIME on May 16th, 2024, and will be opened immediately thereafter.
SCOPE OF WORK: The project includes the construction of a new 8,120-sf pre-fabricated/engineered steel and wood construction fire station for Walton County Fire Rescue. Project scope includes mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building construction, and site work. The project site is located northeast of the intersection of SR-83 and County Highway 2, located in Glendale, Walton County, Florida.
A Non-Mandatory Pre-Bid conference will be held at 9:00 A.M. local time on April 30th, 2024, at the
Walton County Sheriff Office located at 10 Sheriff Place, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433. Bidders may also attend the pre-bid meeting via teleconference by dialing 850-635-0655, extension 261217.
The last date to submit questions is May 6th, 2024, no later than 12:00 Noon. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents are to be posted on the County's e-Procurement (OpenGov) portal accessible via the county’s Purchasing webpage. DIRECTING QUESTIONS TO ANY OTHER
STAFF, PROJECT ENGINEER AND ANY OTHER PERSON IS PROHIBITED AND WILL RESULT
IN BID BEING DISQUALIFIED. Questions received after such date and time will not be answered.
The Bidder is responsible for the delivery of its bid. Bids received after the specified day and time will not be opened.
To be considered, Bidder may still submit a bid digitally on a USB THUMB DRIVE, along with ONE
ORIGINAL PAPER BID, in a sealed envelope clearly marked "ITB NO: 24-29 Glendale Fire Station
Project " addressed to Bids: Central Purchasing at 176 Montgomery Circle, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435.
Alternatively, Walton County's preferred method of submission is an electronic bid submitted through its e-procurement portal accessible via the county’s Purchasing webpage.
