About this file
This Addendum II to Invitation to Bid No. 24-29, issued by the Walton County Board of County Commissioners Office of Central Purchasing in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, on May 13, 2024, modifies the original specifications for the Glendale Fire Station construction project. The addendum revises three key documents: Electrical Plan Sheet E1.2 to reflect updated monument signage, Electrical Sheet E0.2 to document required runtime specifications for the diesel generator and associated fuel tank size, and the Submittal Checklist Sheet. Most significantly, the addendum extends the bid closing date from May 16, 2024, to May 23, 2024, at 3:00 P.M. The original project scope encompasses construction of an 8,120-square-foot pre-fabricated and engineered steel and wood fire station for Walton County Fire Rescue on a 7.58-acre undeveloped site located northeast of the intersection of SR-83 and County Highway 2, with comprehensive mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building construction, and site work components. The project allows 220 calendar days from Notice to Proceed for substantial completion.
The project has an estimated total cost of approximately $2.8 million, which has been fully budgeted by Walton County. Bidders must be licensed General Contractors in accordance with Walton County Ordinance 2009-01 and are required to submit a 5% bid bond along with performance and payment bonds. The project includes liquidated damages of $1,700 per day for substantial completion delays and $850 per day for final completion delays. Bidders must submit extensive documentation including proof of previous experience, current commitments, drug-free workplace certification, trench safety compliance, and compliance with unauthorized aliens restrictions. The facility design must meet 2017 Florida Building Code standards and will include garage areas, bunk rooms, living quarters, administrative spaces, and support facilities. Water and sewer services are unavailable at the site and must be developed as part of the project scope. Local vendor preference considerations apply, and contractors are required to obtain a County Building Permit.
