II. QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS (Q&A)
The City has received the following question(s) concerning the solicitation:
Q1: The door schedule calls door anodized but specifications say organic which is paint. What do you want the Contractor to use?
A1: The Contractor should use anodized as called out in the door schedule.
Q2: The door elevation says 1/4” tempered glass. If these doors have to be rated, we would have to change glass to 9/16” laminated impact. What would you like the Contractor to quote?
A2: The Contractor shall quote ¼” tempered glass as stated.
Q3: The specifications call for hurricane rated. If the exterior doors have to be rated, we would have to change the hardware to what we tested with. What would you like the Contractor to do?
A3: Please bid in accordance with Section 08710 Door Hardware.
Q4: Some door frames call for a 4” head. We do not have frames with a 4” head. The best we could do is make those doors 2” taller. What would you like the Contractor to do?
A4: The 4-inch frame head is to keep a constant measurement for masonry construction, making the doors 2” tall achieves the same thing. Doors would be 7’-2” with a 2” frame head is an approved equal.
