About this file

This is a Small Business Preference Submittal form for Invitation for Bid (IFB) 7800 MLJ1045 issued by the City of Austin, Texas, for Custom Tarps, Replacement Parts, and Repair Services. The solicitation seeks custom tarps, tarp replacement parts, and repair services for City vehicles and equipment including dump trucks, dump trailers, refuse and waste trucks, fire apparatus ladder trucks, and fire pumper trucks. The document outlines the City's Small Business Preference Procurement Program, which is optional for offerors to participate in and is designed to encourage small business participation and increase contracting opportunities with the City.

Offerors may qualify for small business preference incentives under two categories: Small Business Primes, which are businesses holding recognized small business certifications that comply with U.S. Small Business Administration size standards and receive full preference, or Small Business Subs, which are non-small businesses that include one or more small business subcontractors representing at least 5% of the total contract amount and receive partial preference. The City recognizes various certifications in determining small business status as detailed on the AustinTexas.gov Small Business Program website. Participation in the program is voluntary and requires offerors to complete the certification form included with their offer. The City reserves the right to verify certifications and may withhold preference, disqualify offerors, or void contracts if misrepresentation is determined, particularly if the error is intentional.
