About this file

This document is a Local Business Preference submittal form for the City of Austin, Texas, related to an Automatic Door Maintenance, Repair, Replacement, and Inspection contract. The form is optional and designed to encourage local businesses to participate in City solicitations by providing a preference to qualified local vendors. Offerors meeting specified criteria are encouraged to complete and submit the form with their bids, though participation is not mandatory to respond to the solicitation.

The Local Business Preference Program defines a Local Business as any person or corporate entity with headquarters located within the Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos Metropolitan Statistical Area, encompassing all areas within Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, and Williamson counties. Headquarters is defined as either the location where owners or leadership provide direction and management of the entity, or the location of the entity's Administrative Center where most important business and operational activities are managed. Offerors must certify their physical headquarters address and indicate which functions are provided at that location. The City reserves the right to request additional information to verify the offeror's headquarters location and may withhold preference, disqualify the offeror, or void an awarded contract if any misrepresentation of headquarters information is determined to be intentional. The form notes that Local Business Preference may not be allowable in solicitations subject to federal funding.

Note: Local Business Preference may not be allowable, and will not be provided, in solicitations subject to federal funding.

1. Instructions. Offerors meeting the following criteria (both) are encouraged to complete this form and include it with their Offer. Participation in this program or completion of this form is not required to respond to this solicitation.
