About this file

This is a Local Business Preference submittal form for the City of Austin, Texas, related to an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for Filter Sand and Gravel supplies. The solicitation seeks to supply and deliver filter media support gravel and filter sand to the City, with the City reserving the right to add or delete departments and locations as necessary at the same bid price. The document provides instructions for offerors who meet local business criteria to complete an optional certification form and include it with their bid response. Participation in the Local Business Preference Program is voluntary and not required to respond to the solicitation.

The Local Business Preference Program defines a Local Business as any person or corporate entity with headquarters located within the Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos Metropolitan Statistical Area, encompassing Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, and Williamson counties. Qualifying offerors must certify their headquarters address and identify whether the location serves as either the owners' or leadership location providing direction and management or the entity's Administrative Center where important business and operational activities are managed. The City reserves the right to request additional information to verify headquarters location and may withhold preference, disqualify the offeror, or void any awarded contract if misrepresentation is discovered. Note that the Local Business Preference may not be available if the solicitation is subject to federal funding.
