AC: Alternating Current
ACO: Administrative Contracting Officer
AE: Acoustic Emission
AES: Advanced Encryption Standard – Block cipher algorithm adopted by US government for encryption of data. Standardized in the National Institute of Science and Technology’s (NIST) Federal Information Processing Standard
(FIPS) 197.
AGC: Automatic Gain Control – Technique for limiting impacts from variation in range of analog signal amplitude within a radio receiver. AGC controls the gain of the system in order to maintain adequate performance over a wide range of input signal levels.

COFDM systems transmit data through the use of multiple carriers within a main signal with each carrier being modulated in one of several ways. The loss of one or more carriers may have little or no impact on the video received. The systems typically employ Forward Error Correction (FEC) coding, further increasing signal reliability.
COTR: Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative
Cross-Band: Technique for translating RF signals from one frequency band to another frequency band.
CSV: Comma Separated Values – Standard file format where data fields are separated by comma character.
dB: Decibel dBc: Decibels relative to the carrier, a measurement of spurious-free dynamic range dBm: Power ratio in decibels referenced to one milliwatt, a measure of absolute power
