HSCG87-14-B-PJT672 Questions & Answers Lake Louise Housing – Revision 1
Q1. Is it the intent of this project to replace the GLB supports under the decks?
A. Refer to Section 02 05 00, Paragraph 3.1.E for deck demolition requirements, and Deck As-Built plans included in Drawings.
Revised Q1 Answer: In preparation of the plans and specifications, USCG assumed the major structural elements of the decks are re-usable or require minor repairs, including the GLB supports, beam seats and support foundations with little or no repairs required. The demolition is intended for decking, railings, stairs, clips, angles or any structural elements that are not reusable.
Q2. In order to replace beam seats new concrete work will be required. Is this the intent?
A. Refer to Q1 response.
Revised Q2 Answer: In preparation of the plans and specifications, USCG assumed that minimal concrete work would be required since the assumption was the majority of structural elements are reusable or will only require minor repairs and/or replacement.
NOTE: If different conditions are encountered other than the USCG assumptions in the responses to Q1 and Q2, this would likely fall into a ‘Differing Site Condition’ and would be subject to the Changes clause of the contract.
