Question and Response Matrix 1
# Question Response
1 Specification WI 35, WI 28
WI 35 Para. 3.2 under General Information states the Contractor shall off‐load fuel as necessary to accommodate dry docking of the vessel at the Contractor’s Facility. WI 28 – Drydock para.3.5 states The Contractor shall be aware that fuel offloading is not mandatory to drydock the vessel. Is it the intent of the USCG to have the KTR bid for removal of the fuel? If so, could the USCG provide an amount of gallons of fuel for estimating purposes?
An upcoming amendment will update work item 35 to reflect POLAR STAR arriving with 600,000 gallons of fuel.
2 Specification WI‐10, 11, 12
Para. 3.1.2. C states; “Use the handler to align the tail‐shaft and move it forward through the Cooper Bearing.” The Port and Starboard propulsion shafts do not have Cooper Roller Bearings in the shafting arrangement. Only the centerline shaft has a Cooper Roller bearing in the arrangement. The shafting arrangement drawings show this very clearly. Will the specifications be corrected to reflect an accurate work scope the Government is requesting for bid?
An upcoming amendment will correct work items 11 and 12 to remove the reference to the Cooper Bearing.
3 Specification WI‐32
Paragraph 2 of item 32 calls out drawing 400 WAGB‐ 4805‐2, Rev “U”, Salt Water Cooling Sys. This drawing was not included in the drawings and publications disc. Please provide references drawing 400 WAGB‐ 4805‐2, Rev U.
This drawing will be provided in addition to several others that were missed.
