3.2.2.1.3 Lower Band. The lower band is from the lower limit of the upper band to the keel including the entire base of the keel.

3.2.2.1.4 Stem. The “impact area” is a six foot wide area centered along the stem from the lower edge of the Upper Band (20’-0”waterline) to the base of the keel

3.2.2.1.5 Hull fittings. An 18 inch diameter circle around all through hull fittings, with the exception of the sea chests, shall be preserved. See CG Dwg 400-WAGB 0700-1 for details on all through hull fittings.

3.2.2.2 Where new coating is to be merged into existing U/W hull coating, provide an approximately 3-inch wide overlap between the new coating and existing coating, smoothly tapering the overlap from the existing coating into the prepared surfaces.

3.2.2.3 Sea chests. Clean sea chests, sea chest strainer plates, by abrasive-blasting to “SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2, Near-White Blast Cleaning”, to produce a 1.5 to 2.5 mil anchor profile; or by waterjetting to "SSPC-SP WJ-2(M)/NACE WJ-2(M)”.

NOTE
